Cumbrian Ribeye Steak

Cumbrian Ribeye Steak, known as the king of steaks, is a must-try for those who value exceptional flavour and quality. This premium cut, sourced from heritage, grass-fed beef raised in the Lake District, delivers a tender, melt-in-your-mouth experience.

The ribeye is a cut prized for its rich marbling, which keeps the meat juicy and full of flavour. As the fat melts during cooking, it enhances the natural richness of the steak. Whether you grill, pan-sear, or roast it, ribeye consistently provides a bold and satisfying taste.

To elevate your meal, pair the Cumbrian Ribeye Steak with Hesket Newmarket Scafell Blonde, a local beer crafted with a 50-50 blend of pale ale and lager malt. The light and citrusy notes of the beer balance the richness of the steak perfectly. Together, they create a memorable dining experience that celebrates the flavours of Cumbria.

At Basecamp North Lakes, we prioritise ethical farming and sustainability. Our beef comes from grass-fed, heritage breeds raised by local farmers who share our commitment to quality. Supporting these practices ensures a superior product while protecting the environment.

Serve your ribeye steak with roasted vegetables or creamy mashed potatoes for a delicious plate. A drizzle of peppercorn sauce or garlic butter takes it to the next level. Don’t forget to add a chilled bottle of Scafell Blonde to complete the meal.

Visit Basecamp North Lakes today to pick up your Cumbrian Ribeye Steak. Experience the unbeatable combination of heritage beef and local beer, crafted with care in the Lake District.

How to cook...

  1. Remove the steak from the refrigerator about 30 minutes before cooking to allow it to reach room temperature.
  2. Pat the steak dry with paper towels to remove any excess moisture.
  3. Rub the steak with a small amount of olive oil.
  4. Season both sides of the steak generously with salt and pepper. You can also add other seasonings or herbs according to your taste.
  5. Place the steak on the grill. You should hear a sizzle when the steak hits the grill.
  6. Grill the steak for about 4-5 minutes on the first side. Avoid moving the steak around too much to ensure good grill marks and proper searing.
  7. Flip the steak and grill for another 4-5 minutes on the second side for medium-rare. If you prefer your steak more well-done, cook for an additional minute or two on each side.
  8. For crosshatch grill marks, you can rotate the steak 45 degrees halfway through grilling each side.
