Suma’s vegan Bolognese sauce is made with the very best organic Italian-grown tomatoes and vegetables to a traditional Italian recipe. Bolognese-style sauce can be traced back to the Roman Empire but it wasn’t till the Middle Ages that it became connected with the northern Italian city of Bologna. At that time the name of this sauce was ragu, which was a meat-based sauce, cooked slowly to allow the development of the rich deep flavours. Of course, ours is vegan.
