Description
A blonde ale that is a session ale in character, lightly hopped and very drinkable.
This blonde ale, has had a more colourful past than it’s light appearance might suggest. Initially named after a Lakeland guidebook writer of some fame (due to an old family link) we were refused permission to mention the good gentleman’s name, by a larger brewery.
Undeterred, after a few jovial versions of the same name (ending in a threat of court action) we settled on “Nameless Ale” for a while. But being innominate was not a positive selling point. So it became the instantly popular “Ullswater Blonde” the first of our Lakeland themed beers and by far our best selling beer, even outselling Old Faithful these days! Perhaps our larger opposition did us a favour?
