Darkhouse Coffee Roasters was formed in 2019 by Jiri Buchtela, a Cumbrian based barista with a real passion for coffee and sustainability. Â Jiri learned his trade as a coffee roaster in Czech before coming to the UK. Since then, Jiri imported a small roasting machine to produce small batch speciality coffees for cafes and hotels local to Keswick. Â And so, Darkhouse was born.Â
“We only use beans that are ethically sourced from around the world. Â We work closely with two Cumbrian based coffee bean suppliers, both with direct family links to the coffee plantations. Â We have had the pleasure of visiting plantations in Vietnam to see the journey of the beans first hand.”
