About Darkhouse...

Darkhouse Coffee Roasters was formed in 2019 by Jiri Buchtela, a Cumbrian based barista with a real passion for coffee and sustainability.  Jiri learned his trade as a coffee roaster in Czech before coming to the UK. Since then, Jiri imported a small roasting machine to produce small batch speciality coffees for cafes and hotels local to Keswick.  And so, Darkhouse was born.

“We only use beans that are ethically sourced from around the world.  We work closely with two Cumbrian based coffee bean suppliers, both with direct family links to the coffee plantations.  We have had the pleasure of visiting plantations in Vietnam to see the journey of the beans first hand.”
