What is The Basecamp Larder?

The Basecamp Larder is a paid private membership service for a small number of households.

It is a world-first way of buying, managing, and using meat as a long-term household food system, run by your butcher.

You buy meat ahead of time at today’s prices, avoiding fluctuations and market increases.

Membership covers the planning, storage, tracking, bespoke butchery and day-to-day management of that meat over the year.

We hold it. We manage it. You draw it down when it suits you.

What membership actually gives you

• We butcher meat to suit how you and your family actually eats

• We label, track, and manage every cut for your household

• We store everything safely in our commercial freezers

• You draw down steaks, joints, mince, and cuts as and when you need them

• We top up, adjust, and plan with you over time

• You get priority access to new products, special cuts and dry aged meats

This is not a subscription box. It’s not weekly meat. It’s not bulk buying left to sit at home.

This is planned buying, professionally managed by our butchers, with certainty built in.

Who the Basecamp Larder is for

The Basecamp Larder is not for everyone.

It’s built for a small number of households who like certainty, planning ahead, and buying well.

It’s for you if you:

• Already buy good meat and want to protect yourself from rising prices

• Prefer buying whole or half animals rather than chasing weekly availability

• Want less waste and fewer last-minute food decisions

• Don’t want another freezer at home or the running costs that come with it

• Value a direct relationship with your butcher

• Want priority access to special offers, new products, and choice cuts.

It works best for households who cook regularly, plan meals ahead, and want their meat sorted before they need it.

If you like knowing what you’ve got, where it is, and what it cost, the Larder makes sense.

Why this exists

Most people want better food and more control.

They do not want more admin, more freezers, or more guesswork.

The Basecamp Larder removes the friction.

Membership pays for the system, not just the storage. Availability is limited.

This only works at small scale, done properly.

How The Basecamp Larder Works

1. You buy ahead

You choose the meat you want to place into your larder.

This can be whole animals, halves, or selected cuts, depending on how your household eats.

2. We prepare it for you

Our butchery team cuts the meat to suit how your family actually eats.

Everything is clearly labelled and logged to your individual larder.

3. We manage it here

Your meat is stored in our commercial freezers at Basecamp.

We track what’s in your larder, what’s been taken, and what remains.

4. You draw down as needed

When you visit Basecamp, you take what you need from your larder.

Steaks, joints, mince, or special cuts, already sorted and ready.

5. Top-ups and extras

If we get something special in and you want it added to your larder, just let us know.

We’ll hold it for your next visit.

Your meat stays with us until you use it.

No rush. No guesswork. No chasing prices.

Founding Members

We’re opening the Basecamp Larder to 15 households only.

These first places are for people who already plan ahead and want to lock this in early.

Founding members receive:

• A welcome meat hamper added straight into their larder

Priority access to special cuts and limited stock before it reaches the counter

Direct WhatsApp contact with the butchery team for top-ups and requests

• A reusable insulated freezer box for taking meat home

Membership is limited so we can keep control, accuracy, and a personal relationship with each household.

Once the 15 places are filled, the Basecamp Larder closes to new members..

Price Certainty In A Volatile Market

UK meat prices have risen sharply over the past year.

Industry data shows that meat and poultry prices increased by around 16% during 2025, with beef experiencing even steeper rises in certain categories. In some cases, beef prices rose by more than 30%, driven by higher feed costs, labour pressures, supply constraints, and ongoing market volatility.

For households that buy meat regularly and value quality, this creates uncertainty. Prices fluctuate. Availability changes. Planning becomes harder.

Buying ahead at today’s prices offers a different approach.

By securing meat in advance, households can plan properly, avoid future price shocks, and take control of their food spend without compromising on quality or provenance. It removes guesswork and replaces it with certainty.

That principle sits at the heart of the Basecamp Larder.

The Larder is built around planned buying, careful butchery, and managed storage. It allows customers to lock in value when prices are known, rather than reacting to increases later in the year.

In a market where costs continue to rise, price certainty is no longer a luxury. It’s a practical advantage.

Direct Access To Our Butchers

Members of the Basecamp Larder have a direct WhatsApp line to our butchers.

This isn’t a chatbot. It’s not a call centre. It’s the people who cut, pack, and manage your meat.

You can message us to:

• Ask questions about cuts and quantities

• Plan ahead for upcoming weeks

• Adjust your larder to suit how you actually cook and eat

It keeps things simple. It keeps things personal.

First option on selected cuts

Larder members get first sight of selected cuts before they’re released publicly.

That means:

• Limited runs

• Special lines

• High-demand cuts that don’t hang around

For example, a small batch of aged sirloin might be released to members first.

You have time to reserve what you want and add it to your larder before it goes live to the wider public.

No rush. No scrambling. Just first option.

Priority collection

Message us before you arrive and we’ll have everything ready.

No queue. No waiting. In and out, properly looked after.

Your order is packed, labelled, and ready to go.
